I also learned that some trans men opt for a non-bioprosthetic penis that uses an implantable motor. This type of penis uses a vibrating motor to stimulate an erection, making it easier to use than a bioprosthetic penis.
After hearing my friend’s story, I can’t help but respect their cousin’s courage for undergoing this procedure. Trans-men deserve to feel comfortable in their own skin and be proud of their bodies. I wouldn’t ever discourage anyone from getting the surgery if it’s something that they’ve decided to do. Nobody should be forced to stay in a body they’re not comfortable with.
